Alaska Salmon Fishing report for August 18, 2013

Our morning group did very well today on the Talkeetna River.

  1. Good morning. Just a quick note to say thank you for our trip up to Talkeetna the other morning. The guys on my crew had a blast as most of them had never caught a salmon before, much less in Alaska and I know everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
At dinner that evening and all day yesterday on our flight down to WA they couldn't stop talking about it. Will be sure to bookmark your site in the event I (we) end up with a free day in Anchorage/Elmendorf again in the future.
Personally, I've done dozens of guided flyfishing trips over the years, including several Alaskan fly-outs that were at least 4x the price you guys gave us and probably never caught as many salmon on any of them as I did on Sunday in a single day. My only regret is that I didn't change over to the flyrod earlier in the day as the fish (especially the Chums) loved that black wooly bugger and/or an egg sucking leech. Also had never caught three types of salmon on the same day, in the same spot, before- not to mention a couple of nice fat 'bows, so was close to a personal best for me as well.
Thanks again and hope to make it up there again sometime soon!
    regards,
